Baseball is not necessarily an obsessive-compulsive disorder, like washing your hands 100 times a day, but it's beginning to seem that way.  We're reaching the point where you can be a truly dedicated, state-of-the-art fan or you can have a life.  Take your pick.

Originally a labor of love and tiny operation in Omaha, Nebraska, College Baseball Lineup (formerly Ping !Baseball) has grown to become a robust, national group whose dynamic membership celebrates the athletes, excitement and emotion of the game.

Despite an increase in college baseball's visibility across the country over the past decade, the collegiate game and its athletes still remain tragically underappreciated and uncelebrated. In the past few years baseball teams from Vermont , Northern Iowa and Duquesne have been forced to eliminate the national pastime from their campuses as a part of cost cutting measurers. Considering these school's northern locations and modest enrollments, the moves were discouraging, but not altogether shocking. However in September of 2010, when the Cal Bears baseball team learned that the next spring would be their last due to financial reasons, it was a poignant notice that practically no team was safe from campus cost cutting maneuvers.

College Baseball Lineup's mission is now even more important than ever - to appeal to all fans, new and old, hardcore and casual, and lift the game up and continue to showcase and promote the talent on diamonds across the country. As a part of our effort we spurred the creation of the Tino Martinez DII Player of the Year Award in 2010. Collaborating with former Tampa Spartan, Olympian and MLB All-Star Tino Martinez, the annual honor helps recognize skilled student-athletes for their performance on the field. The highlighting of DII baseball is a particularly dedicated cause of ours because as much as DI baseball teams and players are deserving of more attention and accolades, the DII tier level of play is in even more need of recognition.
